Permanent residence for children of Argentines or by 'arraigo' after temporary residence

Official name: Radicaciones - Residencia Permanente (Ley 25.871 art. 22, modificada por Decreto 366/2025)

Since Decreto 366/2025, permanent residence in Argentina is mainly for foreign-born children of Argentines and for people who change category by 'arraigo' after 2 years of temporary residence (Mercosur nationals) or 3 years (others), with sufficient means of support. Recognised refugees who meet the arraigo rule, Brazilians under Ley 26.240 and former diplomats also qualify. Applications start online in RaDEX and require being in Argentina.
