Resettlement refugees (quota refugees) to Norway

Official name: Overføringsflyktninger (kvoteflyktninger)

Norway resettles refugees from abroad within an annual quota set by the Storting. UNHCR decides who it proposes as resettlement refugees to Norway, so individuals cannot apply themselves. For 2026 the government proposed cutting the quota from 500 to 100 places, and UDI expects 140 resettlement refugees to arrive in 2026.
