Burkina Faso short-stay visa
Burkina Faso issues short-stay visas of up to 90 days online through the official Visa Burkina portal run by the Ministry of Security / National Police, or through its embassies. Approval gives a pre-visa (PDF) that you show at the border. Prices depend on purpose: for example 66,000 XOF for a tourism visa and 99,000 XOF for a single-entry business visa. Burkina Faso left ECOWAS in January 2025 and is part of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES); check current security advice before any travel.

Burkina Faso long-stay visa and residence permit
For stays longer than 90 days, Burkina Faso issues long-stay visas for business, study/training, family visits, cooperation, or exceptional stays of 1 to 5 years. A residence permit (permis de séjour) for family reunification or business is also listed on the official Visa Burkina portal. Applicants show proof of purpose, health, insurance and sufficient income or a sponsor.
