Tourist visa
Lebanon's General Security publishes a list of nationalities that get a free one-month tourist visa on arrival, extendable to three months. Citizens of the Gulf states and Jordanians with a national number are exempt and get a free 6-month or 3-month stamp. Other nationalities need a visa approved in advance by General Security or issued by a Lebanese embassy. Parts of Lebanon have been affected by conflict; check your government's travel advice first.

Work visa (Ministry of Labour approval) and annual work residence permit
Foreign workers in Lebanon need a work visa authorised by the Ministry of Labour, then an annual work residence permit from General Security. General Security sets residence fees by category, from LBP 18,000,000 (Category 4) to LBP 108,000,000 (Category 1, including family members). Spouses and children of a Category 2 worker can get residence at the same fee as the worker.
