European Blue Card

Belgium

Belgium issues the EU Blue Card through the single permit procedure, with the employment part decided by the region (Flanders, Brussels or Wallonia) and residence by the federal Immigration Office. Applicants need a higher-education diploma from at least 3 years of study (or 3 years' experience for ICT/managers), a contract of at least six months, and a salary above the regional threshold, e.g. EUR 4,748 gross per month in Brussels in 2026. After 24 months a 3-year card is issued.
