Visitors to the Republic of Congo must get a visa before departure from an accredited Congolese embassy or consulate; no Congolese visa is issued at any port of entry. The Embassy in Washington issues tourist and business visas: US passport holders get 2-year multiple-entry visas for USD 160, and non-US passport holders get 90-day multiple-entry visas for USD 200. An invitation letter or hotel booking, plus the host's ID, is mandatory for all applicants.
