International protection

refugee status, subsidiary protection · Official name: Διεθνής προστασία

Cyprus's Asylum Service, under the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection, examines claims. Claims can be made at legal entry points (Larnaca and Paphos airports, all seaports) or at the Immigration Police office of your district; many new arrivals register at the Pournara First Reception Centre. Applicants may work 9 months after lodging, after registering on the Labour Platform.
