Residence permit for studies

Finland grants a residence permit to non-EU nationals admitted to a Finnish educational institution. Applicants must show they can support themselves, generally EUR 800 per month or EUR 9,600 in the bank for studies lasting a year or more, plus any unpaid tuition. Students on a permit may work an average of 30 hours per week, and graduates can later apply for a permit to look for work.
