Residence permit for EEA nationals
quota and lottery
EEA nationals do not have unrestricted free movement to live in Liechtenstein. Under a special arrangement in the EEA Agreement, part of the residence permits for EEA nationals is allocated by public lottery, held separately for working and non-working applicants. Only EEA nationals without a permanent right of residence can take part, and the process has a preliminary and a final draw.
