Temporary residence for study
Foreigners enrolled as full-time pupils or students in North Macedonia can get temporary residence for study. It is granted for up to one year and can be extended. Students generally cannot work, but short or auxiliary jobs may be allowed by law. Time on study residence counts only by half toward permanent residence.

Eligibility
Enrolment
Certificate of enrolment as a full-time pupil at a school verified by the Ministry of Education and Science, or as a full-time student in an approved programme at a registered higher education institution (Law on Foreigners, Article 92).
Minors
Parental or guardian approval is needed for minors (Article 92).
General conditions
Show means of support, accommodation and health insurance, and no threat to public order or serious criminal record.
