San Marino citizenship by naturalisation
Naturalisation requires registered and effective residence in San Marino for the period set by Law 114/2000 as amended. A 2025-2026 reform sets this at 20 continuous years, or 10 years for the spouse or civil partner of a citizen and for certain adoptees. Applicants must show Italian at least at B1 level and pass a test on San Marino's history and institutions. Applications go to the Civil Status Office.
