Family reunification of family members of third-country nationals

A non-EU national who has lived legally in Cyprus for at least 2 years, holds a residence permit valid for at least 1 year and has a reasonable prospect of permanent residence can apply for their spouse and minor children to join them. The sponsor applies to the Migration Department in Nicosia for an entry permit; a tourist visa cannot be used for this purpose. After arrival the family member registers in the Aliens Register and receives a residence permit.

Eligibility
Sponsor's residence
At least 2 years of legal residence in Cyprus (the Director may waive this for employees of approved foreign-interest companies; it does not apply to ICT or researcher permit holders).
Sponsor's permit
A residence permit valid for at least 1 year and a reasonable prospect of acquiring permanent residence (exceptions for ICT and researcher permits).
Spouse
The marriage took place at least 1 year before the application, and the spouse is at least 21.
