Residence by arraigo for people in Spain, including without valid status
Arraigo is a one-year residence permit for people in Spain with ties to the country (five years for family arraigo). Most types need 2 years of continuous presence. The 2026 extraordinary regularisation was a separate process that closed for applications on 30 June 2026. People who stay without authorisation can face a fine or expulsion.
