Student Visa and e-Student Visa

Foreign students admitted to a recognised Indian institution can get a student visa from an Indian mission, or, if their nationality is eligible, an e-Student Visa online through the Indian Visa Portal. Students must first register on the Study in India (SII) portal, which issues an SII-ID that is mandatory for the student visa application. Dependants of e-Student Visa holders can apply for an e-Family (e-SX) visa. Employment is not allowed.
