Residence visa / temporary stay visa for professional activity provided remotely outside Portugal
Digital Nomad
Portugal offers two consular visas for people working remotely for employers or clients outside Portugal. A temporary stay visa covers stays under one year. A residence visa is valid for four months and two entries; during that time the holder applies to AIMA for a temporary residence permit under Article 88(1) of Law 23/2007 (REPSAE). The permit lasts two years and can be renewed for three-year periods.
