After a rejection in Sweden: no track change, departure deadlines and re-entry bans
Sweden ended 'track change' on 1 April 2025. Rejected asylum applicants can no longer apply for a work permit from inside Sweden, and permits gained that way cannot be extended. A rejection sets a deadline to leave. If you miss it, you stay without valid status and may get a re-entry ban. The agency can help with travel and, in some cases, money to return.
