Extend a residence permit or visit from inside Sweden
Apply before your permit ends. A timely application lets you stay until the decision. Work permits can be applied for at most 2 months before the end date, and a late application means you cannot work while waiting and may be rejected. Schengen visas can be extended only for humanitarian reasons, strong personal reasons or unforeseen events.
