Entry visa to Syria

interim authorities; e-visa portal announced

Most foreign nationals need a visa to enter Syria. The UK government's official travel advice says to apply online at the Syrian e-visa portal (evisa.sy) and expect a decision in about 5 to 7 days. When checked on 17 October 2026, the portal itself showed only an 'EVisa Coming Soon' page. Syria is still recovering from conflict, and the UK government advises against all travel there.

    • UK travel advice says holders of Israeli or Iranian citizenship cannot enter Syria.
    • Travellers whose passport shows previous travel to Israel may be refused entry.
    • Lebanese citizens should check restrictions before booking.
