E-3 Specialty Occupation Workers from Australia

The E-3 lets Australian nationals work temporarily in the US in a specialty occupation, meaning a job that normally needs at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. The employer must get a Labor Condition Application (LCA) from the Department of Labor certified for E-3 use and pay at least the prevailing or actual wage. Most people apply for an E-3 visa at a US embassy or consulate; people already in the US can change status through a Form I-129 petition. The law limits new E-3 visas to 10,500 a year.
