Residence Visa (partner, child, employee, self-funded, foreign investor, leasehold holder) and Permanent Residency

Vanuatu's Residence Visa is for people who want to live in Vanuatu for more than 12 months. It has six pathways: partner, child, employee, self-funded resident, foreign investor and leasehold holder. Visas can be granted for 1, 3, 5 or 10 years in several categories. Separately, the Permanent Residency Visa subclass 131 is open to people who have lived in Vanuatu for at least 12 months. Subclasses 132–135 are investor categories.

Who it’s for

Partners and children of Vanuatu citizens, long-term employees, self-funded retirees or remote-income earners, VIPA-approved foreign investors, and leaseholders of Vanuatu property.

Eligibility

  • Partner

    Married to or in a de facto relationship with a Vanuatu citizen, or was in such a relationship before the partner's death.

  • Child

    A dependent child of a Vanuatu citizen.

  • Employee

    You need secured employment with a Vanuatu-based business for at least 12 months.
