Tourist visa

and invitation-based visa on arrival at Kabul airport

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the de facto authorities in Afghanistan (the Taliban-run 'Islamic Emirate', which most countries do not recognise) issues tourist visas through Afghan missions abroad. A tourist visa is valid for three months with a one-month stay and costs USD 80. A visa on arrival at Kabul International Airport exists only for people with an official letter from a domestic organisation or an invitation from an international organisation, approved by the Ministry; it costs USD 200. Many governments advise against all travel to Afghanistan and have no embassy there.
