Temporary Study Visa (VITEM IV) and residence for study

Brazil issues the temporary study visa (VITEM IV, Law 13.445/2017 art. 14) to foreigners coming for a regular course, an internship, or a study or research exchange lasting more than 90 days. The visa is tied to a specific educational institution. After arrival the student registers with the Federal Police; residence for study is granted initially for up to one year and can be renewed until the course ends.
