Residence authorisation for work with an employment contract
VITEM V
Foreigners hired by a Brazilian employer under a CLT employment contract need a labour residence authorisation from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (General Coordination of Labour Immigration, CGIL). For someone abroad, the employer files for 'prior residence' on MigranteWeb, and once approved the worker applies at a Brazilian consulate for the temporary work visa (VITEM V). The rules for employment-based cases are in CNIg Normative Resolution 02/2017 and the general document list in Resolution 01/2017.
