Renew or convert a residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) from inside Italy
Renewal is requested from the Questura (police immigration office) of the province where you live, at least 90 days before the permit ends. The renewal is checked against the conditions for issue. Some protection-based permits can be converted to a work permit at the Questura.
