Luxembourgish nationality by naturalisation

Official name: Acquisition de la nationalité luxembourgeoise par naturalisation (Law of 8 March 2017)

Adults who have lived legally in Luxembourg for at least 5 years, with the final year before applying uninterrupted, can apply for naturalisation. They must pass the Luxembourgish language test (Sproochentest: speaking at A2, listening at B1) and complete the 'Vivre ensemble au Grand-Duché de Luxembourg' course or its exam. The procedure itself is free; the language test registration costs EUR 75. The Minister of Justice has 8 months to decide. A separate 'option' route exists for some categories.
