Residence permit for third-country students
higher education
Non-EU nationals admitted to full-time higher education in Luxembourg follow two steps: before arriving they apply for a long-stay (D) visa for a 'student' residence permit, and after arriving they declare their arrival to the commune, take a medical check and apply for the residence permit before the D visa expires. Monthly resources must be at least 80% of Luxembourg's social inclusion income (REVIS). Students may work an average of 15 hours a week during term.
