Monegasque nationality by naturalisation or marriage
Naturalisation is at the discretion of the Sovereign Prince. Applicants must normally have been ordinarily resident in Monaco for at least ten years after age 18, must give up their previous nationality, and must be exempt from military service in their country of origin. A spouse of a Monegasque national can apply by declaration twenty years after the marriage (ten years for marriages before 1 July 2022).
