Monaco residence permit (carte de séjour) - first, temporary card
Anyone aged 16 or over who wants to live in Monaco for more than three months a year must hold a residence permit. A first applicant usually gets a one-year 'temporary' card, which needs no minimum period of residence. Applicants must show suitable accommodation in Monaco and sufficient means, for example a job or business, a pension, or a reference from a Monaco bank. Non-EEA nationals must first obtain a French long-stay (type D) visa.
