Temporary residence for family reunification
Family members of third-country nationals with temporary or permanent residence can get temporary residence for family reunification. Eligible relatives include a spouse (both at least 18), unmarried children under 18, dependent adult children unable to care for themselves, and dependent parents. It lasts until the sponsor's residence ends, up to five years. Spouses of Slovak citizens can instead get five-year permanent residence.

Relatives
Relatives you may bring are a spouse, unmarried children under 18, certain dependent adult children, and certain dependent parents.
- Spouse: both partners must be 18 or older
- Adult children: dependent and with long-term health problems
- Parents: dependent and without proper family support at home

Student sponsors
Students cannot bring dependent parents (s. 27(3)).
