Family residence permit

Aile İkamet İzni

Turkey issues a family residence permit to the foreign spouse, minor children and dependent adult children of Turkish citizens, of foreigners holding a residence permit, and of refugees and subsidiary protection holders. The sponsor must have health insurance for the whole family, a minimum income, a clean record for family-related crimes and at least one year of residence. Permits last up to three years at a time and never longer than the sponsor's permit.

Who it’s for

Foreign spouses, minor children and dependent children of Turkish citizens or of foreign residents in Turkey (including students and work permit holders).

Eligibility

  • Family members covered

    Foreign spouse; minor foreign child of the sponsor or spouse; dependent foreign child of the sponsor or spouse. Only one spouse can be covered.

  • Sponsor's income

    Monthly income of at least one third of the minimum wage per family member, and in total not less than the minimum wage.

  • Sponsor's other conditions

    Valid health insurance covering all family members; no crime against family order in the last five years (criminal record); at least one year of residence in Turkey; registered in the address registration system.
