Common Travel Area, UK/Channel Islands visas accepted

The Isle of Man is a Crown Dependency with its own Immigration Service and Immigration Rules, and it is part of the Common Travel Area. Holders of a valid visa issued by the UK Home Office, Jersey or Guernsey can visit without a separate Isle of Man visa. Others apply online through UK Visas and Immigration for an Isle of Man Standard Visitor visa, or are assessed at entry if they do not need entry clearance. Schengen visas are not valid.

Who it’s for

Tourists, family visitors and business visitors to the Isle of Man who are not British or Irish citizens.

Eligibility

  • UK/Channel Islands visa holders

    A valid visa from the Home Office/UKVI, Jersey or Guernsey allows a visit; holders cannot work, study or claim public funds.

  • Non-visa nationals

    Assessed at the point of entry; check gov.uk to see whether entry clearance is needed. The UK ETA scheme also applies (see the Isle of Man ETA notice).

  • Arriving via Dublin

    Passengers arriving via Dublin must present themselves and their passport to the Isle of Man Immigration Office.
