Bermuda Standard Work Permit
1 to 5 years
Bermuda employers can hire a foreign national on a Standard Work Permit if they show that no suitably qualified Bermudian, spouse of a Bermudian or Permanent Resident's Certificate holder was available. The employer must first advertise the job and then apply online to the Department of Immigration. Permits can be granted for one to five years.

Eligibility
Employer applies
The employer submits the application online with a signed employment contract. Applications are not accepted by email or in person.
Local labour-market test
The employer must advertise the job on the Government Job Board for eight consecutive days (current guidance also mentions a local newspaper advertisement) and properly consider Bermudian, spouse-of-Bermudian and PRC applicants.
Notify local applicants
Before applying, the employer must show it has told unsuccessful Bermudian, spouse-of-Bermudian and PRC applicants the outcome.
